In an important diplomatic meeting, Austria's ambassador to Kosovo, Georg Schnetzer, met with the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić, to discuss an important economic topic for the Republic of Kosovo: the new Central Bank Regulation.
In this meeting, both parties reviewed the implementation of the new Regulation of the Central Bank, which decides that the only currency allowed for cash transactions and in the payment system in Kosovo is euro. This regulation has had a great impact on the financial and economic structure of the country, causing extensive discussions and debate in the public opinion and reactions of the Serbian community.
Minister Rašić and the Austrian ambassador discussed these concerns, offered some solutions to involve the Serbian community for them to be more satisfied with this regulation and the need to ensure a stable and fair transition to the use of the euro as the only allowed currency. They also discussed possible cooperation and close coordination between them and international partners to address challenges and improve financial conditions for citizens and businesses in Kosovo.
The Ambassador of Austria expressed his country's continued support, stressing that the new regulation of the Central Bank is a step towards increasing stability and reliability in the country's financial system.
On the other hand, Minister Rašić thanked the ambassador for Austria's support to ensure the widespread support and acceptance of this regulation among the Serbian community. It is important to consider their concerns and provide appropriate solutions that match their financial needs and preferences. In this way, it is possible to reach a common consensus for all parties and ensure the successful implementation of the new regulation of the Central Bank in Kosovo.
