The agreement for the fifth phase of the EU project – Community Stabilization V (EU-CSP V) was signed today. The agreement was signed between the Ministry for Communities and Returns, represented by Minister Nenad Rašić, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), represented by Anne Rostock, head of mission.
The project, which has already realized over 400 collective and individual projects, through which around 500 people from the non-majority community have been employed. In this new phase, the agreement will include up to 80 new projects.
Minister Rašić expressed his satisfaction for the continuation of the program, stressing the importance of citizens' well-being.
"I am extremely pleased that we were able to continue the CSP program, because we prove once again that citizens and their well-being always come first," he said.
However, Rašić expressed his disappointment for the non-fulfillment of obligations by the EU regarding the co-financing of the program.
"I regret that the EU, our strategic partner, has not fulfilled its obligation of the signed contract to provide co-financing for this program, which is practically about improving the living conditions of minority communities," he added.
He hopes that EU representatives will understand the importance of continuing the projects and the negative consequences that their stagnation may bring.
