The Minister of the Ministry for Communities and Return, Nenad Rašić, received today in a meeting Mrs. Sonia Sirtori, head of the Secretariat of the Committee for Political and Democratic Affairs and Mr. Frank Power, head of the Office for the Council of Europe in Pristina together with a delegation from Strasbourg. The meeting held was of special importance as it was discussed about the improvement of cooperation and communication between Kosovo and the Council of Europe, taking into account the process of Kosovo's membership in this international organization. It was discussed about the continuation of the commitment of the two parties to create a strong and conscious relationship. Minister Rašić expressed his commitment in fulfilling the criteria and standards necessary for membership in the Council of Europe. He emphasized the importance of continued efforts to meet these standards, which include respect for human rights, the rule of law and the development of democratic institutions. On the other hand, the representatives of the Office of the Council of Europe have expressed their support for Kosovo in the path of membership in this important organization. They appreciated Kosovo's efforts so far to meet the necessary criteria and promised their assistance and advice to achieve success in this important process. This meeting is considered an important step in the direction of deepening the cooperation between Kosovo and the Council of Europe. This international body is one of Kosovo's main partners in efforts to strengthen democratic values, the rule of law and human rights in the country. In this context, the meeting was of special importance to ensure the proper support and orientation for Kosovo on the way to membership in the Council of Europe.
