Today, in a press conference, the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić announced an important change in Kosovo's financial policy. The main topic of the conference was the new regulation of the Central Bank of Kosovo, which has determined that the only currency allowed for cash transactions and in the payment system in Kosovo is euro.
Minister Rašić said that he held a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili, and Prime Minister Albin Kurti to discuss the implementation of this regulation. He expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister for his understanding and announced that there will be a transition period to allow citizens to prepare for this change.
Regarding the implementation of the dinar, Minister Rašić presented two possible options. The first option is a transaction between the Central Bank of Kosovo and that of Serbia, while the second option is the return of dinars to euros from banks operating in both countries. The minister said that this regulation is in full compliance with the European regulation for the implementation of payments.
Minister Rašić also announced good news for all citizens, saying that each ministry will employ 10 members of the non-majority community. He encouraged those with secondary or higher education diplomas, to submit their qualifications for verification.
This media conference marks an important step in the preparation and implementation of the new regulation of the Central Bank in Kosovo and highlights the commitment of the government to ensure that these changes are implemented in a fair and transparent manner for all citizens.
