The Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić, held an important meeting with the head of the EULEX mission, Giovanni Petro Barbano, in order to address the key challenges affecting the stability and development of Kosovo. The meeting focused on various topics, including security in the country, rule of law, situation in the north and the reintegration of Serbs into local institutions, as well as perspectives for further cooperation in the future.

In this context, the discussion focused on the need to improve and strengthen security throughout the territory of Kosovo. Minister Rašić and mr. Barbano shared concerns about the current challenges in the field of security and the importance of close interaction to address these challenges. They agreed that the rule of law should be a fundamental element in the ongoing agenda of the institutions, focusing on efforts to strengthen the capacities of justice and apply the law fairly and equally for all citizens.

The next topic of discussion was the situation in the north of Kosovo and the challenges presented to the rule of law and local authorities. Minister Rašić emphasized the importance of    reintegration of Kosovo Serbs in the local institutions and commitment to address the specific issues arising from this situation. They praised the efforts to ensure that Serbs have the full opportunity to contribute to the development of the country and have adequate representation in local institutions and the development of a peaceful and safe environment for all.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Rašić Rashiq and mr. Barbano discussed the perspectives of further cooperation. They stated that, there is potential to deepen and expand the partnership between them. Discussion was focused on the need to strengthen coordination and cooperation at different levels, including the exchange of experiences and mutual support to address challenges and improve institutional capacities.

This meeting marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation and constructive dialogue between them. The discussed content serves as a starting point for concrete actions in the direction of building a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens of Kosovo.
