A question with a clear answer - yes.
The general elections in the north of Kosovo have been announced for April 23, in a not so democratic environment, the citizens of the north of Kosovo will have the opportunity to choose a new leadership that will represent them in the next mandate.
What makes democracy so inferior that it is under question?
A question that deserves a retrospective of the events that took place in the mentioned part of Kosovo.
For many years in the north of Kosovo, we have been witnessing the impressive electoral victories of one of the political subjects, the likes of which the old continent does not remember in the recent past.
What causes it?
Aggressive media campaign takes the lead above all and acts as something quite common and normal in that part of the territory, blackmailing with a social issue, as well as a series of institutional manipulative ways of acting in intimidating the people.
The interesting thing is that this political subject is not present in these elections, namely the Srpska Lista, leaving the institutions of Kosovo, decided to boycott the current local elections.
And so shaken democracy gave birth to its heroes, in the municipality of Leposavič we have a candidate of Serbian nationality, Aleksandar Jablanović, who, despite the pressure, decided to run for office. He is an example and proof that democracy should be believed even when it seems unrealistic at a given political moment.
Being a candidate in the north of Kosovo, specifically in Leposavič, at this moment is really courage according to the way the campaign is being conducted, and let's be convinced that this is just the beginning of that same campaign.
If there is light at the end of the tunnel and democracy overcomes the ideological construction of social reality, the people in the north of Kosovo will gain hope, the hope that they can decide their own destiny independently.
The hope for a life without fear and the hope that the children of that nation are born and develop a free mind.
